Research and recording of fish and shellfish of the Sutla River

Public institution, in cooperation with the experts from the Zoological Institute of the Faculty of Science Zagreb, under the guidance of Assis. Prof. PhD Zoran Marčić, on 27th and 28th June, conducted a fish and shellfish survey in the Sutla River as part of the ‘Vezi narave/Veze prirode’ project, which is implemented under the Interreg V-A SI-HR cooperation program.

A study of fish and shellfish populations in the Sutla River in the Krapina-Zagorje County is being conducted to support the preparation of expert bases for otter management on the Sutla River, since fish and shellfish represent the most important source of otter food and are the most significant indicator of otter habitat.

On Friday, June 28th, in addition to the aforementioned research, we conducted another activity within the same project and that is recording the Sutla River as well as the fish and shellfish survey itself in the Sutla River. Recording and photographing of individual project activities is carried out within the framework of multimedia material activities, which includes the production of photo and video material with an overview of activities on demonstration measures carried out in nature to support biodiversity, showing the status of the target species in the cross-border area, educational programs for biodiversity conservation, goals, effects and results, public awareness events on biodiversity conservation, workshops and similar.
