The 2nd working meeting of the partners on the ‘Vezi narave/Veze prirode’ project
On Tuesday and Wednesday, 12th-13th February 2019, the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas in Krapina-Zagorje County hosted the 2nd partner meeting on the project “Vezi narave / Veze prirode”, which is implemented within the framework of the co-operation program Interreg V-A Slovenia – Croatia, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The meeting was held at the Zagorje Nature Center in Radoboj and Villa Zelenjak – Ventek.
The purpose of the meeting was to present the activities of individual partners in the first period of the project implementation, as well as the presentation of completed activities within the work packages for which individual partners are in charge. Each partner presented the activities that they expect in the second period and the way they are going to be implemented. On the second day of the meeting, a press conference was held at which partners presented their activities on the project. The press conference was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of the Krapina-Zagorje County, Jasna Petek, and the Mayor of the City of Klanjac, Zlatko Brlek.
The main objective of the project is to ensure the sustainability of conservation and restoration of target species in protected areas of Natura 2000: Sutla, Kupa, Risnjak National Park, Radensko Field and Kamačnik Canyon. It is a desire to establish sustainable structures for the long-term conservation of biodiversity, and by involving participants in the implementation of nature protection measures as well as development and implementation of innovative content for the interpretation of nature, the project will bring the nature protection and care of it to the general public.
The leading partner of the project is Municipality of Grosuplje, while other project partners are Municipality of Rogaška Slatina, Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation, Risnjak National Park, Town Vrbovsko, Hyla Association and Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas in Krapina-Zagorje County.
The project started on September 1st 2018, and will last for 30 months. The total amount of the project is EUR 2,553,908.00, of which 85% is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
